Mining and resources
As the availability of mineral resources becomes exhausted in a once abundant site, a mine enters into a new phase – the end of useful life. Our team facilitate the closure of these facilities, which often require comprehensive closure planning and subsequent decommissioning, decontamination, deconstruction and remediation.
We boast decades of experience in some of the most significant mining infrastructure deconstruction projects, including the biggest deconstruction project in the southern hemisphere currently underway in Gove, NT.
Energy
Many of the world’s leading energy providers have announced plans to cease operations ahead of government initiatives to close all such facilities. In the race away from coal and towards renewable energy, the number of power plant closures is both increasing and accelerating.
Liberty Industrial has the expertise and experience to navigate plant closures within the energy sector, successfully completing 11 large-scale projects to deconstruct and remove ageing assets in our 15 years of operation. This includes some of Australia’s largest power station decommissioning projects such as the demolition of Munmorah Power Station, Swanbank and Wallerawang Power Station.

Chemical plants
With the principles of end-use in mind, our team have the depth of knowledge and expertise to collaborate with chemical clients to ensure their complex and sensitive facilities are decommissioned, demolished and remediated safely and with full respect for the environment.
Our team completed the successful commissioning of one of Liberty Industrial’s two owned-and-operated high flow rate Chemically Enhanced Dual Media Water Treatment Plants. Capable of treating contaminants such as heavy metals, PFAS, and organic and inorganic pollutants to levels below laboratory reporting limits, the plant added confidence to meet the site’s strict Environmental Protection License.

Liberty Industrial has significant experience delivering projects for the defence and government sector either directly, or with department officials or third parties.
