The Barrow Island Joint Venture oil facility (known as WA Oil) commenced production in 1967 and has since yielded over 335 million barrels of oil. Now at its end of field life, Chevron is retiring the onshore assets including the wells, flowlines, processing facilities, storage facilities and associated infrastructure, and the offshore assets including the Barrow Tanker Loading Line (or BTLL), marine terminal and associated subsea supports and moorings, and more than 800 wells.
- To protect the local flora and fauna, we conduct inspections at the start and conclusion of each day.
- Maintaining an open dialogue and forward planning with the client to navigate the island’s unique challenges.
- Smaller excavators such as the 38t, 48t, and oxycutting, are being utilised to carefully complete the groundwork asset removal.
- Navigating complex logistics with a team of experts in multiple specialties.
Exceptional Outcomes
- Expected to deliver the project on time and to carry out decommissioning safely and manage environmental risks.
