Liberty Industrial to Commence Work on Argyle Diamond Mine Closure

Liberty Industrial will soon commence demolition and remediation earthworks on the Argyle Diamond Mine Closure Project for Rio Tinto.

The Argyle mine site, well known for being the world’s largest source of coloured diamonds, is in the remote East Kimberly region of Western Australia.

Our proven track record of successfully delivering major industrial deconstruction projects in remote locations around Australia ensured Liberty Industrial was uniquely positioned to deliver this project. We are also delighted to be once again working with Rio Tinto to deliver this significant project that will have a profound and lasting impact on the local community.
As a reflection of our ongoing commitment to Indigenous inclusion, and in support of Rio Tinto’s commitment to the local economy, Liberty Industrial will be working closely with local and Traditional Owner Businesses to deliver the project.

Liberty Industrial has a demonstrated – and proud – history of developing and implementing employment and procurement initiatives that support local and indigenous industry participation and capacity building; and we continue to work with communities to maximise local and indigenous participation and engagement across every project.

Project planning and preparation is currently underway with works expected to commence in June 2021 and be completed over the next three years.
