Liberty Industrial have expanded with a new plant and equipment workshop facility and office in Somersby NSW.
The facility is the new base for Liberty Industrial’s workshop crew which includes Workshop Manager, Kurt Denham and his team of ten full time Technicians, Boilermakers, Fitters and Apprentices.
Situated in a 4600 square metre yard, the workshop features 1150 square metres of internal workspace and is equipped with a 25 tonne gantry crane, a wash bay with an oil separator, a fabrication bay, a mechanics bay and eight bays of pallet racking.
In line with the company ethos of delivering sustainable and resourceful solutions, the workshop’s structural steel framework and gantry crane were salvaged from one of Liberty Industrial’s recent projects that involved the removal of several large steel framed warehouses.
The structural steel framework and gantry crane were methodically deconstructed and relocated to Somersby for reconstruction. They were first transported to another location for sandblasting and painting before being reassembled at the new workshop site location in Somersby.
Liberty Industrial’s Workshop Manager, Kurt Denham said that he was pleased to see the plans for a well-equipped and functional workshop space at Somersby realised.
I’m pleased to see our vision for a functional and well-equipped workspace for maintaining our world class fleet of plant and equipment finally come to fruition and we’re doing it in a sustainable way.”
“It’s fantastic that we were able to repurpose a redundant warehouse and give it a new life as a workshop for heavy machinery.”
Adjoining the workshop is a new build office space that has been designed to accommodate around fifteen personnel. The expanding Somersby team will provide local support to Liberty Industrial’s existing Central Coast, Hunter region and broader NSW customer base with a focus on growing operational presence throughout Australia and extending our coverage to better support customers.
Liberty Industrial has plans to expand the Somersby facility to include an environmental remediation and waste management innovation laboratory for conducting environmental remediation and resource recovery treatment trials.
