Liberty Industrial Awarded Best Remedial Project at ALGA 2018 Annual Industry Excellence Awards

Liberty Industrial’s Moorebank Intermodal Terminal Demolition and Remediation Project has been awarded the Best Remedial Project (>$1M) award at the Australian Land and Groundwater Association’s 2018 Annual Industry Excellence Awards.

The ALGA Annual Industry Excellence Awards Gala is the leading event of the year for Australian contaminated land industry professionals. The event recognises organisational and individual achievements related to contaminated land remediation.

A judging panel comprised of contaminated land remediation industry experts determined the 2018 Annual Industry Excellence Awards winners.

The Best Remedial Project (>$1M) award recognises excellence in project delivery in relation to contaminated land remediation projects with a value of more than one million dollars.
Liberty Industrial’s Moorebank Intermodal Terminal Demolition and Remediation project involved the delivery of an extensive and complex demolition, remediation and civil works undertaking, incorporating three concurrent site preparation work packages associated with the construction of Australia’s largest Intermodal Terminal.

The two year project saw in excess of 300 buildings demolished including extensive hazardous materials removal, over 180,000 tonnes of brick, concrete and asphalt recycled and in excess of 200,000 tonnes of contaminated soil remediated. In addition, 90km of redundant services infrastructure was removed and backfilled under a stringent geotechnical specification.
