The reuse, repurpose and recycling of valuable resources and the diversion of plastic waste streams away from landfills has never been more important. In alignment with our agenda for environmentally sustainable and innovative practices and ambition for zero waste to landfill, Liberty Industrial recently acquired the SuperSaw by Hultdins.
Built to order in Sweden, the Hultdins SuperSaw unit consists of a rotating grapple with a saw attachment. ‘Dangle mounted’ onto our 25-tonne Volvo Excavator. The SuperSaw allows for safe and efficient cutting and handling of HDPE poly-pipe, to produce lengths for transportation off-site for shredding and recycling.
The SuperSaw is currently at our Argyle Diamond Mine Closure project and is making its way through approximately 43km of poly-pipe, which was once used for fluid and gas transfer across the site. With an estimated weight of 430 tonnes, the down-sized poly-pipe will be reused and/or repurposed.
It is our uncompromising approach to environmental management that has allowed us to routinely achieve upwards of 98% recovery on projects. This ensures we deliver positive environmental outcomes and create value for all project stakeholders – now and well into the future.
